Champs-Elysees
The
Avenue des Champs-Élysées is the most famous avenue in
the world, 2 km long and 70 meters wide. It's
a marvellous place for walking (day and night).
The Arc de Triomphe
The
arch is 50 meters high, 45 meters wide, and
22 meters thick and is decorated with low
relieves which evoke the battles of the French
first Republic and Empire periods (1789-1815).
Eiffel Tower
Its
construction began on January 23, 1887 with the
engineer Gustave Eiffel. The assembly of the 15
000 metal parts finished in Mars 1889 and
symbolized the World's Fair which took place in the
Champs de Mars.
Trocadero
Opera Garnier
The
Palais Garnier is the thirteenth theatre to house the Paris
Opera since it was founded by Louis XIV in 1669.
Invalides
In
1670, Louis XIV - the Sun King - founded The
Invalides. An old soldiers home, it was funded by a
five year levy on the salaries of soldiers serving in the
army at that time.
Concorde Square

Concorde Square is the most beautiful place of Paris

Notre-Dame Cathedral
The
Notre-Dame Cathedral, on the Île de la Cité, an
island in the Seine River that is the original
birthplace of Paris. The cathedral is almost nine hundred
years old. A little less 200 years were
necessary to build the " cathedral of the Cathedrals
".
Vendome Square
King
Louis XIV conscious that Paris was low in public
buildings decided on the imposing plan of the Place in
1685.
Montmartre* (Sacred Heart,
Place du Tertre),
Montmatre dominates Paris from its 130 meters and get
its name from the Mount of Martyrs.
Louvre
The
Louvre Museum is one of world's largest and best
known museum in fine arts(more than 75 000 paintings).
From a castle in 1190 to its completion in
1870, the palace of the Louvre gradually extended
on right bank of the Seine river.
Madeleine Church
The
neo-classic church of Sainte Marie Madeleine is in
the north of the Concorde Square at the end of the
Royal street. Built in the style of the Greek
Temples, it was devoted in 1842 after almost a
century radical modification and delay of
construction.
