During your stay in Paris, take the opportunity to discover
Bruges, a true jewel of architecture.
The MARKET is in the heart of Bruges, with the
mediaeval Belfry Tower that dominates the town center
and the Town Hall (built in the 14th century). Bruges
is also known as the "Little Venice of the North"
because of its beautiful canal.
Bruges: History
As early
as the 2nd and the 3rd centuries, there was a Gallo-Roman
settlement on the site of Bruges. The inhabitants were not
only farmers, but also merchants with contacts in England
and Gaul.
Bruges: The Town Hall
Bruges
Town Hall, built between 1376 and 1420 is one of the
oldest in the Low Countries. A ceremonial staircase
leads from the entrance hall to the first floor, where
visitors can view the Gothic Chamber.
